My goal with this project was to draw parallels between the roles of construction workers and models. Both are tasked with upholding aesthetics; however, neither are directly responsible for trends—the designers and construction companies are. In this way, models and construction workers function as intermediaries between brands/companies determining aesthetics and consumers.
The disconnected voices of models paired with visuals of architecture speaks to a literal objectification of the models, similar to the misogynistic commentary by the male interviewers.
The basic idea is bones of a house vs. bones of a person.
The layered audio and overlayed visuals serve the overarching themes of construction and deconstruction.
